Labrador Retriever - most popular - Highly intelligent - good-natured - family friendly pet dog


A Labrador dog is a perfect breed for our home, that has many great qualities. We need to know all information regarding the Labrador retriever breed before we decide to make a commitment. 
 Basically there are two types of
Labradors, the English Labrador
Labradors, the American Labrador. The English Labradors comes from English bred stock and the American Labrador comes from American bred stock. Their general appearance is different. The English Labrador bred are heavier, thicker and blocker. The American Labrador bred are tall and lanky. Labradors are a relatively healthy breed, but they are prone to some hereditary problems such as hip and elbow dyspepsia. They are also at risk of eye problems like cataracts.The average lifespan of a Labrador is 12 - 14 years.
Labradors are robust, active dogs able to run and hunt for hours. They have a shiny, coarse coat, brown or hazel eyes, hours. They have a shiny, coarse coat, brown or hazel eyes, Labradors have a medium build and grow up to 22-24 inches(Dog) and 21-23 inches(Bitches) at the shoulders. They
weigh between 27-34kg.(Dogs) and 25-32kg.(Bitches). Labradors are famous for their intelligence, good character and cool temperament. The Labrador dog is friendly, lovable, loyal, and independent. They are not aggressive or shy.

Though bred to be retrieving gun dogs, these qualities also make them excellent companions. There coats is smooth and water-resistant and otter-like tails make them perfect water dogs. Labs require plenty of exercise. They should be taken on 20 – 30 minute walks at least twice, daily. keep in mind that this breed loves to swim, which is also great exercise.
Labradors is a true family dogs, they usually get along well with children and are known to be incredibly loyal, loving and active. Labs are best suited to homes where they can get plenty of exercise, attention and training. Labs are friendly and accepting of other family pets.
