Pets And Cleaning The Home

Dogs, cats and other kinds of furry animals have become lovable household pets. In numerous houses, the pets are treated as the members of the family. But at the same time, often these lovable pets creates the headaches of cleaning. Between the odors, muddy paws and occasional accident. So, the owners have to spend a great time after the furry friends. Since the pets are not capable of cleaning themselves, the pet owners need to clean up all the common pet related damages on their own. Apart from that, like as the people, pets also carry the germs in and on the bodies. An effective way through which one can reduce the risk of getting the germs is through making it sure that the pets totally immunized as well as they are regularly treated for intestinal worms, ticks, fleas and other types of parasites. There are some other cleaning tips through which one can keep the home healthy and pet-friendly as well. Take a look.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after touching your pets or the toys associated with it, blanket, leashes, bedding etc
  • Clean the floors and the feeding areas of the pet regularly by using disinfectants, and don't allow the pets on the surfaces where you prepare foods. Rinse thoroughly the cleaned items with water before reusing. Be careful, as some of the cleaning products can be toxic to the animals. So, always see the level before purchasing any new cleaning product.
  • Make it sure that all the pet have their own utensils and feeding dishes which you separately clean from the other type of household items. Thoroughly rinse and disinfect the utensils and feeding dishes before reusing.
  • Don't ever clean the pet tanks and cages in the kitchen sink. Use buckets if required.
  • Disinfect and clean the surfaces immediately which are contaminated with the animal excretions.
  • Check the pets on a regular basis for the symptoms of the ill health and also keep the claws tripped to avoid scratches. If the pet gets ill, consult with any vet as soon as possible.
  • Do not allow the pets to lick your face or share your plate
  • Don't let any pregnant woman to handle or change cat litter. It can increase the risk of getting toxoplasmosis, which can result in serious problems for the unborn baby.
