Pets And Cleaning The Home

Dogs, cats and other kinds of furry animals have become lovable household pets. In numerous houses, the pets are treated as the members of the family. But at the same time, often these lovable pets creates the headaches of cleaning. Between the odors, muddy paws and occasional accident. So, the owners have to spend a great time after the furry friends. Since the pets are not capable of cleaning themselves, the pet owners need to clean up all the common pet related damages on their own. Apart from that, like as the people, pets also carry the germs in and on the bodies. An effective way through which one can reduce the risk of getting the germs is through making it sure that the pets totally immunized as well as they are regularly treated for intestinal worms, ticks, fleas and other types of parasites. There are some other cleaning tips through which one can keep the home healthy and pet-friendly as well. Take a look.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after touching your pets or the toys associated with it, blanket, leashes, bedding etc
  • Clean the floors and the feeding areas of the pet regularly by using disinfectants, and don't allow the pets on the surfaces where you prepare foods. Rinse thoroughly the cleaned items with water before reusing. Be careful, as some of the cleaning products can be toxic to the animals. So, always see the level before purchasing any new cleaning product.
  • Make it sure that all the pet have their own utensils and feeding dishes which you separately clean from the other type of household items. Thoroughly rinse and disinfect the utensils and feeding dishes before reusing.
  • Don't ever clean the pet tanks and cages in the kitchen sink. Use buckets if required.
  • Disinfect and clean the surfaces immediately which are contaminated with the animal excretions.
  • Check the pets on a regular basis for the symptoms of the ill health and also keep the claws tripped to avoid scratches. If the pet gets ill, consult with any vet as soon as possible.
  • Do not allow the pets to lick your face or share your plate
  • Don't let any pregnant woman to handle or change cat litter. It can increase the risk of getting toxoplasmosis, which can result in serious problems for the unborn baby.

First few months are most important for your kitten to start growing into a happy, healthy, and well behaved for there next life.
When a mother cat produced first milk after delivering her babies is called colostrum.

A newborn kitten's digestive tract loses the ability to absorb antibodies after one day.
Without colostrum a new born kitten can be fall in fatal due to undeveloped immune systems, protective antibodies, an illness. If your cat isn’t nursing her young, gently hold her down, and help the babies latch on. Even a few minutes of nursing can greatly improve their chances of survival. keeping your pet in good health-Take Care For Your Dogs

Pet ownership is cited to have many benefits for humans. Owning a pet can help reduce stress, improve your emotional health and may even promote faster healing. Pets play an important role in the home and can be wonderful companions to kids, adults and seniors. The bond that forms between a family and their pet is sometimes difficult for non pet owners to understand, but for all of us who have or have had a pet in our home, we know the joy and pleasure these faithful companions can bring.

However, keeping your pet in good health involves a lot of responsibility. Understanding how to care for a pet requires you to do a bit of research beforehand. Your pet needs to have a proper diet, grooming, a place to sleep, proper training, social interaction and may other things in order to be happy. Here is a general guide to help you to better understand how to take care of a pet.

How To Take Care For Your Dogs
Collar your dog and attach an ID to it, with the dog's name, your name, address, and telephone number written on it. The ID will prove to be a great help if, and when, your dog ends up getting lost. Through the information provided on the ID, someone will able to bring your pet safely back to your home.

Bathing your dog at regular intervals is necessary. However, giving it a bath on an exceedingly frequent basis can dry out its skin and coat and result in skin infections. The best bet would be to bathe your dog once in a month. In case it gets too dirty in-between, rub it with a damp towel or wash just the paws.

While bathing the dog frequently is not advisable, you should definitely groom it on a daily basis. Move a brush or comb through the hair of your dog, ensuring that its coat remains smooth and free of tangles. Grooming of a dog can be started when it is 3-4 months old and continues throughout its life.

It is necessary to undertake a proper physical examination of your dog on a monthly basis. Check the pad of its feet for any injuries and also undertake an oral examination of its mouth. At the same time, make sure to keep its ears as well as teeth clean. You need to take your dog for regular veterinarian check-ups as well, say every 2-3 months.

One of the main points that you need to keep in mind, while taking care of your dog, comprises of its diet. Remember, a nutritionally balanced diet, with constant access to fresh water, is as good for your dog as it is for you. Before deciding on the proper diet for your dog, it is advisable to consult a veterinary doctor.

If you want your dog to remain fit and healthy, then you need to make sure that it gets a lot of exercise. Keeping its busy physically will also help keep behavioral problems at bay. You can take him for walk twice a day or play with him. In this context, remember that the level of exercise that your dog should get depends upon its breed and age.

While some people prefer to keep their dog free throughout the day, others prefer to keep it tied for majority of the time. It is advisable not to keep your dog constantly tied up, as this will lead to boredom and result in bad temper of the dog as well. As much as possible, keep your dog free of the leash.

If you do not want to breed your dog, get it neutered, after consulting a veterinary doctor. It will help the dog live longer, be healthier and have fewer behavior problems. You should also get your dogs vaccinated against rabies and other diseases. It is necessary to ensure the health of your dog as well as those who come in contact with it.

You need to provide proper shelter for your dog, mainly in the form of a dog house (and fence yard, in case of large and active dogs). However, most of the dogs crave companionship and do not like to be alone for long periods. So, try to spend as much time with your dog as possible and make it go into the dog house at night only.

Family pets teach children about friendship, responsibility and loyalty

Growing up with a pet can be wonderful for kids. But remember that although the experience gives kids a sense of responsibility, only adults can be truly responsible for a pet. Selecting the right pet is a serious decision that family members should make together.A common mistake is bringing home a pet on an impulse without fully understanding the level of commitment involved. Moms and dads also often flock to the pet stores and shelters to find a dog or cat for a surprise Christmas or birthday present for their kids.
For many children, the family pet is their best friend—a companion who not only provides unconditional love, but who also teaches them about friendship, responsibility, loyalty, and empathy.
While most family pet are cats and dogs, other animals can be wonderful additions to your home. Rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, small birds, and fish can make great family pets, for instance, as long as they receive the specialized care they need. Even though these animals are smaller than a cat or dog, they require just as much attention and care.
The key to creating true family pets who are gentle, loyal, and loving to both animals and people—is to treat the animal as a beloved family member and to provide the training and care he deserves. It's not enough to get a pet "for the kids."
